Sealed Fuse Holder FAQs

Here are the most frequently asked questions about sealed fuse holders. If you require additional information, please, contact us online.

Why do White Products sealed fuse holders cost more than those from industry leaders Bussman and Littelfuse?

Bussman and Littelfuse use simpler, less expensive designs to meet the pricing requirements of the aftermarket. They are splash-resistant, but not suitable for engine compartment use. They will not pass the water test.

What is the water test?

Fill a fuse holder with water and close the cap. Shake it, squeeze it, and wiggle the wires. If water leaks out, it isn't sealed or the seals have failed.

I've found a sealed Autofuse® holder that looks just like the White Products part. It has shorter wires and no markings, and is half the price. What's up?

You have found an imported copy of the Delphi Packard design. The seals don't work properly and it fails the water test. Electrical performance has not been tested.

Why don't you offer sealed fuse holders with 14- or 18-gauge wires?

Our standard parts with 10-, 12-, or 16-gauge leads cover all common applications. If 14- or 16-gauge wires are important for a special application, please ask us for a quotation.

Why have you chosen 12- and 16-gauge as your standard lead wires?

These sizes cover the widest range of applications. 12-gauge Type GXL leads fit yellow and blue butt connectors, and can be easily connected to 10-, 12-, 14-, or 16-gauge harness wires. 16-gauge Type GXL leads fit blue and red butt connectors, and can be easily connected to 14-, 16-, 18-, or 20-gauge harness wires.

Can you make sealed fuse holders to our specifications?

Absolutely! Wires can range from 10- to 18-gauge in various colors, striping configurations, and lengths. Minimum quantities would need to be determined when quoted.

Can White Products supply certification so the proprietary ES10 sealed fuse holder cap can be used by an automotive OEM or a tier 1 or tier 2 supplier?

Absolutely! Tell us what you require. Our most recent certification is IMDS.
